Let me know when you’re ready to start and we’ll do a knit along! I have to make one in baby blue sometime before mid-August. I have the yarn already but I have to finish the lacy (aka time consuming) scarf that I’m working on now. Half way done!
That sounds good. I have to finish up an blanket I started for a house warming gift. Very pretty but very bulky and time consuming. Eeek. That’s what I get for doing two strands of Homespun at the same time on size 17 needles. It’ll be neat though. Maybe I won’t give it away.
Good luck with your project!
As promised, the size needles I use are 10 & something much bigger than 16. Sorry but that’s as big as my needle gage goes and these are hand made. I like to use Bernat Baby Coordinates yarn that has a thread of sparkley yarn in it. I tried to take a picture with as much light as possible so you can see the sparkly but I don’t think I succeeded.
I took a look at the Paton’s Be Mine yarn online and it looks so yummy soft that I’m thinking about using that in the future too for this pattern! I hope this helps!
suziehomemaker,
Thanks for the pictures. That gives me a better idea of what you were explaining to me.
Do you knit with one strand or two together as one strand for your pattern? Just curious.
I was doing a test with one or two strands together & I tend to like the look of the double strand better. I picked up some Bernat Baby Softee Sparkle in white. Very pretty so far on the little 4 inch by 2 inch stretch I’ve started.
Thanks again for the great pattern & advice!
Have a great day! Good luck with the storms down your way!!
I knit with just one strand and I usually have alot left over when I’m done with the pattern. I’m actually starting this today!! DH and I are driving from Chicago to NYS after work and I’m going to knit in the car. This pattern is perfect because I don’t have to count stitches or use any funky stitches. I hope we beat the storms!
I’ve never tried two strands before - you’ll have to post a picture! I’m sure it would make it extra warm and cozy.
Well, this is how much I got done on my trip to NYS and back. For 12 hours each way it’s not much but I did have great talks with my DH! I wish you could see how cool the yarn sparkles with this pattern.
Very nice! Thanks for sharing!!
I started on mine too over the weekend. I did mine with 2 strands of white yarn with that cool shiny strand going through it. I think it’ll look really sharp when it’s done.
Thanks again for sharing the pattern & your progress. Very neat!
