I think I made a mistake

I am attempting to make this scarf: http://www.straw.com/cpy/patterns/scarves/pandasilk-easyribbed-scarf.html, which is cast on 30 stitches, then do k2, p2 ribbing.

I think I made a mistake though, because the bit by the red arrow sticks out, and it seems like it should be indented.

Can anyone figure out what I did wrong and tell me how to fix it?

Thanks!

P.S. Please forgive my messy edges.

do you think it might even out as you get further up? maybe a little bit of a pull will help? i think people generally knit with slightly different tesion than they purl, bu don’t quote me, but i guess that might contribute to the edge dilemma, you could always slip the first stitch on each row, may make a more even edge?

I agree that you might want to remake the piece with slipped edges as you seem to have a variety of things happening. Looks like some K sts, a P st in a couple instances. The actual patt appears to have a pseudo-decorative edge treatment but that’s not in the instructions.

If you opt for slipped sel st, you’d best add 2 add’l sts (to however many you cast on): Slip 1st st, K2, P2, end with K1. Rep this row. This would give you a nice cabled edge.

Your yarn is beautiful, by the way.
