My best friend’s 10 year old son has been talking to me a lot about knitting lately. (The child sees me all the time with my knitting bag and knows that I knit every spare moment I can.) Recently, he asked me to teach him to knit. So last night I took some spare yarn and some needles that I don’t use anymore over to their house and taught him to knit. He has been sick this week and was home again today. I went over at lunch to help him with a mistake he made and to check his progress. Man has he made progress! He is really into it. So after work, his mom & I are taking him yarn shopping. He wants to make a scarf. He also told his mom that “Now I need a bag like Mrs. Crystal to keep my knitting in.” Awww!!!
I taught my best friend's son to knit!
Aww that is so sweet! I’ve been trying to teach my 8yr old sister, but she’s such a perfectionist that one mistake and she’s done. That’s great that he enjoys it so much!
That’s great!
I might have to try it with my son.
Knitting or crochet? Hm…
My 11 year old dd wants nothing to do with knitting. She’s not remotely interested. Since she’s an only child, I’m glad I got to pass it on to someone. LOL.
We went and got his yarn. As soon as he got home he started knitting it. It started snowing about that time. He’s hoping for a “snow day” tomorrow so he can keep working on it. The snow isn’t supposed to stick. Dang it. I could use a snow day myself. :tap:
