I am making covers for flat metal book ends, I have the squares knitted. (k only) but need to ‘decorate’ them.
I tried to add some 60’s looking flowers with embroidery, but it didn’t look so good :-x
These are for my 18 year old daughter at college.
Does anyone have any ideas??? The squares are aprox. 5" x 6" and they slip over the metal book ends.

If you didn’t like the flowers that were done with embroidery, what about using the dublicate stitch to add flowers, words or something?
Knit some flowers separately and sew them on–maybe even felted flowers?

I am trying different things including felted flowers. It had become obvious that I will not have these finished by this afternoon, so I am trying for next Thursday when she is coming home for fall break.
