I Need Help on My Pattern!

I am knitting Tank You Very Much tank from the yarn girls’ guide to beyond the basics. It says, “Shape Crew Neck: Bind off center 20 (22,24) stitches and then begin working each side of the neck separately.” When do I start binding off the stitches? What does bind off center mean? :??

You’re at the point where you will bind off the middle of the back for the neck, and will have two shoulders.

So subtract 20 from your total number of stitches and divide that in half.

Knit that number, bind off 20, and knit to the end. Now your yarn is ready to work that shoulder.

When you’re done with that shoulder, then reattach your yarn to the other side and work that one.

Thanks Ingrid!!! Now I understand. I have 66 stitches(I knitting the medium) 66-22=44 so I knit to 44 stitches and then bind off 22, and knit to the end. Yeah :cheering:

If you do it that way, you’ll just be binding off the last 22. They want you to bind off the center 22 stitches. So for 66 stitches, K22, BO 22, K22.

Thanks Yvonne!! Thank goodness, I haven’t done it yet!!
