I need an octopus

I was making a hat with tassles the other day and my daughter was in love with them- she said I made “takos” which is what she calls Octopus, so I want to make her one. Does anyone know where I can get a free octopus pattern?

It could even be crocheted, in which case I can get my MIL to make it :happydance:

Tell Grandma to break out her hook!

This book has a knitted octopus pattern in it.

Does this count?

I have a friend who just wrote up an octopus dish/wash cloth. I could see if she’d send you the pattern for bath time. G

here’s a squid ipod cozy

There is an octopus finger puppet in this book, that I just checked out from the library.

Are squids acceptable? If not, you could always leave out one pair of arms to make it a proper octopus.

That second one is a hat, which your daughter may or may not find awesome. You can always use bigger yarn and needles to make it fit someone other than a baby.

You mean add a pair of tentacles—octopus is 8, squid is 6.

Nope, I mean leave out - squids have ten.

I love squiddies, otherwise I would have no idea and probably assume they were pretty much the same thing.

I stand corrected! Which are the ones with six?

I couldn’t tell you, to be honest. Googling “six tentacles” only gives me coral and amoebas, as far as I can tell. :??
