I bought some wonderful very soft Baby Chenille because my dd asked me to knit an afghan for her expected baby.
I am at a loss as to what the pattern should/could be. I think a pattern would just get “lost” in the chenille.:?? Any suggestions?
Thanks so much:muah:
I agree- too complicated a pattern wouldn’t show well with chenille. Maybe a simple block pattern? (i large block knit, 1 block purl, 1 block knit, then reverse- so you get stockinette one one side of one block and reverse stockinette on the other side of the block?)
or a diagonal knit would give it some interesting visual texture?
I recently saw a cute one in a crochet magazine if you crochet- it was designed for chenille. I can try to dig it out if you want.
The Scrunchable Pattern would be really pretty for a baby blanket, and it wouldn’t need a border to keep it from rolling (it lies flat).
Repeat K, K, P across the row for each row. Cast on a multiple of three, and some folks add 2 stitches at either end as a selvedge (slip first stitch and knit the last of each row).
You could use Grandma’s Favorite dishcloth pattern. I saw one on Ravelry kind of like that and they used baby chenelle and I thought it was really cute. You could probably add some sort of ribbon through the eyelet holes as well to dress it up.
