I am a brand new knitter. So far I’ve only knit a “dishcloth” and I’m currently working on a garter stitch scarf and the MSC Scarf. What I’m wanting to make is a simple cardigan to keep around the office because with the air on it can get a little cold. I have looked at some patterns, but I don’t know what would be good for my very little knitting experience. What do you suggest?

Well, I’d say something that doesn’t require seaming…so a raglan. Look up raglan cardigans.

Knitting Pattern Central has lots of patterns including some raglans. Look for words like simple or easy.
If you can knit and purl you can do almost anything though. 
I wonder if you’d like the Sonnet? If you go to Knitty.com you will find the pattern. It’s knit side to side, and has a square neckline. I quite like it, so if you knit it, let me see a photo! samm
