I need a scarf suggestion

A while back, I made THIS HAT for DH’s aunt using THIS YARN in “Weathered Rose”.

Since she doesnt wear wool ( :?? ) I can’t make her FT Clogs for Christmas. SO - I was thinking about making her a scarf to match the hat. I REFUSE to knit a garter st scarf, but I also dont want cables or eyelashes.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a “funner” scarf?

i am wanting to see someone else do it cuz i tried it once and i just couldn’t do it and have it look neat. Of course i had been knitting for about five minutes so maybe i should try it again now…lol. i think it is veddy perdy!

That scarf is SO pretty, but this yarn, I think, is too thick for that pattern, and it doesnt look too warm…

lol…okay cuz i don’t really wanna go to work anyway.

How about just a simple rib knit or seed stitch scarf? Not very exciting but no holes so should be fairly warm I looked at my stash of scarf patterns and there really isn’t much that is exciting in there.

FWIW, Denim Style knits up soooo nicely in seed stitch, or moss stitch, or whatever you want to call it. I finished a swing coat out of it last month. :smiley:

If you are making it to match the hat… I agree the 2nd one OR the last one. I love the 1st one but to me it doesn’t “go” with the hat.

I like the Martha scarf Rennagayle posted. I think it will go very well with a stockingette hat. :thumbsup:

I vote for #2 in your list or #4. #1 doesn’t go with the hat, and #3’s pattern would get lost in the yarn I think. #5 is probably best with variegated yarn. I have #2 on my personal to-do list, but I don’t have a yarn in mind yet…it’s sooo purty and you get to use BEADS!
