Recently, we had to do a System Restore on our computer, because we were having so many problems. I didn’t lose any of my documents, but I DID lose every one of my Internet Favorites (bookmarks). :verysad:
So sad. And I had LOTS of great links too. All those hours of looking online and finding sweet knitting patterns (and other things)…GONE. :pout:
So, now I’m trying to recreate what I can, but it will never be the same. I wish I had known that I would lose my favorites ahead of time. I would have made a copy of the file, and put it on a disk or something.
:help:
You have my sympathy AND my total understanding. That happened to me about three weeks ago. Our computer crashed and burned. We had to get a new hard drive and I lost not only my bookmarks but THOUSANDS of pictures.
Ohhh nooooo! Every once in a while (like every couple months), I save a copy of my bookmarks/favorites file on another drive. It’s very handy because we’ve had to reformat C: a few times so have to reload the programs. I’d never be able to recreate the knitting links, and certainly not the other ones.
I feel for ya :waah: did the same thing and my son told me about http://delicious.com/ where you can bookmark everything and if your computer crashes it is off site so you don’t lose anything. I use it all the time. And you can see other peoples bookmark too.
If you join you can go through my book marks if ya want.
I had the misfortune of having the same thing happen once. I immediately began using delicious.com and haven’t looked back. I have now rebuilt my “library of knitting links” and am so glad that I don’t have to worry about losing them again!
