Hi all! I’m trying to create a little wallet/pouch for a friend, and I just can’t figure it out! I feel so so dumb for having to ask, but I know this is the place to go.
I’m having trouble figuring out whether to knit in the round, or knit flat and stitch the sides together. Will it make a difference? Also, I’m not sure how to go about sewing in a zipper and lining that looks neat? I’ve never sewn a zipper or lining into my knitting before, and I’m just not sure how to do it.
I would knit flat and stitch up the sides, but that’s only because I don’t have very much experience with knitting in the round; so I don’t know if would truly make a difference. For the zipper/lining, do you have a sewing machine? That would be my approach.
I bet if you were to knit it flat, then pick up stitches along the sides and do a 3 needle bind-off with the wrong sides facing, you’d get a nice little seam at the edges to hold the shape of the wallet but allow it to lay flat.
