I am in love with Caron Simply Soft yarn (yes the cheapest acrylic around) and here is why some of you may remember that maine dishcloth I made to try out the yarn well that sucker has scrubbed my counters and even a few pots and pans and been through the wash countless times and it still looks great and it is soooo soft (I catch myself rubbing it on my face all the time) it may not be really warm but it stands up to all other tests of durability I think! :XX: :happydance:

I am a poor girl in an upscale area. I can not tell you how many times I am complimented on my clothes and the complimenter wants to know where I buy. When I answer “Walmart” inveitably the comment is “Oh, I would never shop at Walmart!”
Acrylics are like that too - if you use them you get compliments on your work regardless of the yarn. Its only when revealing the source that the fiber snob finds fault.
I made a couple baby blankets with that yarn and it really is so nice and soft! I love lots of the pricey yarns as much as the next person, but hey, it’s all about balance, right?

Yes that is right and if you are like me and need things that can just me thrown in the wash this is the way to go there is no pilling whatsoever.
to be clear, being a fiber snob or apparently a clothing snob, doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with not shopping at walmart. There are many people who don’t shop at Walmart for far more important reasons.
I don’t have any thing against fiber snobs or Wal-Mart I was just expressing my feelings about that particular yarn

I just made my sons each a hat out of simply soft, and I like it! 
I really like it too so soft!!! I have some red and minty green in my stack right now… the red is suppose to be like a shrug for me and the green I’m not sure yet… :lol:
I’m using it for some of the things I’m making for the compassionate KAL. I really like it for baby items. I feel like it’s getting a littly fuzzy as I work with it but perhaps that’ll self-correct when I wash? From a distance it doesn’t look so bad but up close you can see little frizzies all over it…it’s all in seed stitch. anyone have thoughts about this?

My younger son’s hat is the “hot head” hat from S n B, and the older son’s one is the same pattern, but just black and orange (he’s a Philla. Flyers Hockey fan!)…

I haven’t knit with anything BUT acrylic yet. As much as I wish I could afford some cushy kureyon, so far the most expensive yarn I’ve bought was Moda Dea Metro. And besides, I’m not a fan of handwashing stuff, so I like acrylic for the washability. Go Simply Soft!
