I found gold in my stash;) Sweater update

I went to my storage unit Sat. I was looking for a small amount of yarn to go with a poncho I am making for my D.G.D. I am so  as to how much stash I really do have. Anyway I was going through some of it & I found a sweater I was making when I first started knitting. I remember I had gotten this much done when we left for Fl. for the winter(5 year ago) I had been going to my LYS for classes to knit this here in In. I had a very bad winter & I guess I forgot about knitting when I returned. I love the yarn, it is “Lana Merino Superfine” I’m going back to class and get this completed. It will be the first sweater for myself and only the second one I’ve made. I hope it still fits  If not I guess I know how to frog :roflhard: Here is a picture of what I have done on it.

Cool! A half-knit sweater. I hope you’re knitting gauge is the same as it was back then.

 I didn’t even think about that. I was just thinking about the size.

Pretty color! I like it

That is like finding gold!! It looks great – such a pretty color!

This just occurred to me:

When you have to rent space to store your yarn, you might be an addicted to the knit! :roflhard:

Well, :roflhard: :roflhard: It isn’t a bad as it looks. we had to put my Mother in a nursing home. I was storing her things at my house. I got tired of all the clutter, I put her things in storage & put about 6 big boxes of my addiction along with her things.

I’ve got a basement full of my father’s things for the same reason. Maybe I can finagle money for storage and slip in a few bins myself!

If you really get embarrassed about your stash, give some of it away. I gave away 18 skeins the other day. Now I can order 18 more!!! :happydance:

It is really good! :happydance: I wish I had a big stash like you do! :inlove: I have never knit a sweater before. I have to try it soon!!! I hope your knitting gauge is the same as it was twhen you started it!!

KK :x:

Thanks, I sure hope the gauge is the same too. I also hope it still fits! I go to class tomorrow night so I should know something to share about it on here.

The bad news is, I have outgrown the sweater  I have to frog it all. I can’t believe that my lys still had some of that yarn left. So guess what I’m going to be working on for a while?
The gauge was the same, for what that is worth :roflhard:

Kind of a good news, bad news thing, eh? Still, lucky that you were able to get more yarn!

NO KIDDING!

Looks like you put a lot of work into that, it’ll be a pretty sweater!

Fabulous, cant wait to see how it turns out.

I find it amazing that the LYS still had the yarn left. It looks like a very nice cozy yarn too. Is it the same dyelot?

I think I would start to miss the stash if it were all locked up in a storage unit. What we knitters really need is hollow transparent coffee tables and foot stools and such to keep our stash in and be able to admire it all at the same time. Ohh if I lived alone you can only imagine how odd my house would look.

:rofling: I’ve often thought this about myself!

 Well for one thing, I still have some stash here at home  . My storage is only about 1/4th mil. away.
living alone does make a big difference, I have 2 extra closets full of sewing and knitting. I knit when I want & buy yarn when I want. Don’t get me wrong, I do miss the companionship of a spouse but it does have it’s advantages.
I have about 8 inches of the sweater back redone. I will post when I get farther along. I have been working on socks and a scarf also. :XX:

Oh, and yes the Merino yarn is the same dyelot. I was amazed and happy about that
