I figured it out!!! But I have another question

Happy Monday! I had posted a question about picking up and purling last week (I figured it out!!), but now I have another question. I want to add cat ears to this ghost and have no idea how to do that. You knit him flat from the bottom up. The last several rows are as follows:

Rows 5-21: St st
Row 22: K1, then K2Tog across the row to the last stitch, K1 (16
stitches)
Row 23: P
Row 24: K2Tog across the row (8 stitches)

Cut yarn, leaving a foot long length of yarn for sewing up, and pull
through the eight stitches on your needle, slipping each stitch off the
needle as you go along.

Any ideas?

I’ve done bears ears on hats by picking up sts on the finished hat and knitting the ears.
This pattern may help with the shaping although you may need to make smaller ears with fewer sts.

or maybe this one

Good for you for figuring out the pick up and purl!

Thank you so much!

What would you like me to explain?
