This is just a silly little post but I felt I wanted to share it with my fellow knitters. Those who have seen earlier posts of mine will know I have knitted a couple of sweaters for my elderly mum. I had my phone catch up with her tonight and she asked me to knit her a sweater for a Christmas present. She would like it in blue with a round neck but she will leave the pattern to me. It sounds silly but I just feel so proud. I’ve ordered the yarn now to look out for just the right pattern ![]()
Good for you!
That’s lovely. A gift made with love rather than something you can buy mass produced. My elderly mum is stuck in sheltered housing for Xmas this year. First Xmas in five years she has not been to me with all the great grand children. She is 93. To cheer her up and her elderly neighbour I have knitted lovely snowman tea cosies from the great grandchildren. To keep their teas warm whilst they open their gifts.
My mum has always been the type of person to not show her feelings. Not one for displays of affection. The last jumper I knitted for her was an exact copy (apart from the size, she’s tiny!) of one I had made for myself but this time she has left the pattern (and the shade of blue) to me. To me, that’s huge ![]()
Hi there!
This is not silly at all! So you should be ever so proud, as obviously you’re talented. Congratulations!
Good for you! That’s high praise! ![]()
It is so sweet!
I think that is wonderful! You should feel proud!
