Hi there I’m new to the forum.

I’ve reached this point in a pattern for the back of a cardigan. Do I bind off the stitches at either side of the centre 28sts or bind off the 28sts?

This is the first pattern I’ve committed to seeing through to the end so would appreciate your help and your wisdom.

Mark center 28 (28, 28, 30, 32) sts for Back neck. Bind off.

You put markers either side of the centre 28 stitches (use locking markers and place them on the actual stitches on the needle, rather than between), then cast off, keeping the markers in place until after you work the back neck.
