I did it!

So… last night I was looking at the edge instructions for the Hemlock Ring Blanket and realized it would be SO much easier to do the crochet bind off. I haven’t ‘really’ tried to crochet anything since I was about 8 years old, and all this calls for is a chain of 7. Sounds silly, but I was terrified to screw up the edging since this blanket is taking quite a while to get done (I’m about 1/2 way… ish).

Anyway I watched a few videos last night at 3am when I couldn’t sleep, and I got the chain with very little effort  So today I set out to make a granny square with some leftover Malabrigo… and I did it!!!

Baby steps… but… I did it!!!

You are a brave man; and resourceful! Good job!:woohoo:

Great Job! Crocheting is sooooo easy…and fun!
Check out Mary Grace’s Blog, Hooked On Needles…she has some really great crochet videos! Also, Youtube has a bazillion crochet videos. I also learned a lot of stitches on Nexstitch.com.

Funny you should mention the Hemlock Ring Blanket…I just finished my 2nd one yesterday. The first one that I made, I did the crochet bind off and it was the first time I ever tried crochet…you won’t believe how easy it is to do. I haven’t blocked it yet…probably will get to it this week.

On this Hemlock, I knitted to row 60…takes forever to go around once…LOL!

If you’re on Ravelry, you can check out my projects…I’m merryknitter and I have a picture of the red one that I knit for my sister-in-law.

Make sure you post a picture of the finished Hemlock!
Happy Crocheting!
Merry

Thanks so much, Merry!!! Going to go look now :oD

Nice beginning of a square. The more you do the easier it gets. Practice to coin a phase makes perfect.

Well done ‘hotstar’ :woot:

:aww: hehe

WELL DONE!!
