Looks great! I’ve been knitting for 2 yrs now, and the only thing i’ve knit my son so far is a bib!
Thanks again all!
Yes, I think this was the BEST pattern for a first sweater :knitting: Knit one arm, cast on for the body on the next 2 rows, knit to the neck, split, knit from 2 different balls so you knit the body all at once, then cast back on to join the neck (getting this nice and tight was the hardest part, imo) then knit, bind off over 2 rows to get back to just sleeve, and before you know it, you’re done! This is the pattern I loosely followed (except I was using worsted cotton, and size 6 needles). Only 2 seams is awesome! I bought the yarn Monday afternoon, finished Thursday night - somehow I doubt my next sweater will go so quickly
How adorable! Congratulations!
Congratulations!!! You did a great job of it.:woot:
I felt the same way once I moved on from knitting easy scarves. What are you going to knit next?
Next? Well, first I have some hats I want to move on - first will be urchin from knitty. Then, my crazy husband had a great rasta hat that shrunk when he washed it, and he wants me to knit another. I really want to learn stranded color work, so I think that hat will take awhile - I have some funky fair isle swirly-spirals (sorry, don’t remember the real name!) that I think will look cool in his red/yellow/green/black rolled brim hat - or at least I hope so, but I need to finish picking/buying yarn for that first (cotton, mercerized cotton? Not wool, he runs hot already)
After those, I want to knit dd a sweater (she really likes BriarRose on knitty) and my oldest ds. And ME! I want to knit something for ME! We’re going camping next week and I’m thinking I should just go to get some washable acrylic so I can make a lapghan while we’re there - camping now just seems the perfect time to knit something heavy.
Hee hee… you were a “knitter”, IMO, the moment you CO. Congrats on that great sweater! You did a beautiful job AND have motivated me to TRY and at least finish ONE thing this month (although i can’t promise I won’t end up casting on something new in the meantime… I’m becoming the QUEEN of UFOs).
Great job!
Your sweater is beautiful and for a beginner. You did a great job! What pattern did you use? I would like to try one for my grandson. Thanks, Grandmaknit
What a little CUTIE! And, nice job on the sweater
