Ok so I had a couple of questions but I still did it I finished my first ever knit Sweater. I just need to put in the zipper. I am very proud of myself.

I should clarify this is a toddlers sweater. The pattern is from LionBrand http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/kwet-CsweaterJacket.html and it was pretty easy for a first timer. I left out the pockets as I was confused on how to do the slant pockets. I am going to have to find some left over yarn around the house (should be easy) and practice doing them.
