I-cord mistake

I’m having problems with I-cord. I made a mistake and had to rip out a few rows and now the I-cord does not look right. I have ripped so many times with no success. Please help!

Would it be possible for you to make a picture of it?

This is after I got done on the right side which I knitted to the last 3 stitches then I sl the last 3 stitches purl wise wyib. That is the back of it which the string of yarn crosses over the I-cord.

This is after I purled on wrong side then turned around to knit and it added bumps on the i-cord.

I hope you can understand what I’m trying to say.

I’m attaching better pictures. On the WS one end of my work there is a bar going across the I-cord and the other end, i have bumps on the I-cord.
The RS looks okay.
Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong?

It doesn’t look like you’re doing anything wrong. When you pull the yarn strand across to work the next row of I-cord, you’ll close up the WS purls and see only the RS knits.
If you’re getting a ladder or a strand across the back of the I-cord it may be that you’re not tightening the yarn enough to close up the space. Just a bit of extra tension should close that up.
