I can't fit my yarn hank around swift..how do I make the circle smaller?

When I first got it, I opened it to its full width and it seems to be stuck. I can’t wrap the hank around it at ‘full open’, and I don’t know how to make the diameter smaller. The “instructions” that came with it are pretty useless. I can’t bring myself to use my left arm as a swift with a hank of Malabrigo.

Any ideas? Toss it in the trash? Seems like a waste of money at this point.

Thanks,
Laura

:?? What kind do you have? I have the clamp-on wooden one, and there’s a knob to turn that lowers the rack, which gets smaller as you lower it.

I have mine perpendicular to the floor, but that’s it.

You should be able to turn the yellow wingbolt that’s on the upright part and slide it down like an umbrella.

That works!

Thanks so much!

Darned shame I had to make a mess of the first 15% of the hank. BUT, when I return from Florida (if I EVER LEAVE, WHERE IS MY HUSBAND?), I can wind it up! Thanks!!! :muah:
