I can't Believe this week OT & On T

OT–I can’t believe this week! We have been having major problems with our satellite internet, so we are back to dialup. Three kids in virtual academies and only dial up. Boy it makes for some long days. Then Mother decided that she is taking us all on a cruise to Alaska this summer which has started a rash of clothes buying (including suits for DH and DS and evening dresses for the DD’s) My youngest DD had a fit that she had to wear a fancy dress until she found out that her brother had to wear a tie. You should have seen her face light up. :roflhard: Now DH’s new job that told him he is a local driver is going to send him over the road for 3 days. Normally it isn’t a problem, but half of the kids are sick and I am totally stressed out (refer to satillite problem!)

On Topic–I can’t believe this week! I have done something I have never done before. I have bought new knitting books and yarn  I took my Christmas present back to the store so DH said that I could buy knitting books for Christmas and anniversary. (Got to love DD#2 she told DH that since we had been married for 21 years and I had given him 3 wonderful children you multiply it and he has to spend at least $63 for my anniversary present) He listened to her and told me I could spend around $90 on books that I wanted. I got:
Knitting on the Edge
The Sweater Workshop (to knit seamless sweaters)
Knitter’s Handy Book of Sweater Patterns
Big Fish Little Fish (Pattern for child and adult of every pattern)
The Knitter’s Handy Book of Patterns
Hats: A Knitter’s Dozen

I also went on a yarn buying rampage (for me anyway who only buys one skein at a time). I got a big box of “bits & pieces” in the mail today that I got for shipping from some wonderful soul, only it wasn’t “bits & pieces”! It was full skeins of wool, and cotton, and such. I wish she would email me back so I could pay her more for her shipping! Then I bought more WOTA for my booga bag to be. I also went to a tiny little lys and found out that they were having a discontinued sale and bought several skiens for 1/2 price. I don’t know what has gotten into me, but I had better get busy. I not only need to decide what to knit, but also where to put all this!!

Good for you! That is great that you were able to pamper yourself a bit with yarn and books! It sounds like you deserve it! Have fun figuring out what projects will soon be on the needles!

Congrats on the stash enhancement and on the books–wow! No wonder you’re worried about space! :rofling:

The dh and I had satellite internet…never again. We had reception problems even on clear, sunny days. It was awful. :frowning:

Congrats, too, on the Alaskan cruise! Alaska is just beautiful–you’ll have a wonderful time! :happydance:

YOU’VE GOT STASH!!! :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:

21 years and three kids = $63?!? You’re selling yourself short. :rofling:

Great haul!! Enjoy every minute of your new yarn and books!

ooo yay!!! i love new books!
