I just replied to your post in the how to forum. I included a pic. If you are felting I wouldn’t worry about being exact. As long as the place you pick up at is strong enough it won’t matter after it is felted. You won’t be able to see any stitches anyway.
Thanks… I am still confused but I think I am getting somewhere. I am going to post another pic w/ question as soon as husband pulls it off the camera

I found picking up stitches was easier with a crochet hook. I’ve only done this a couple of times… actually I picked up stitches on dpns with my first pair of socks and had no trouble…
but yesterday I picked up stitches with a crochet hook then slid the stitches to the end of the crochet hook and put them on a knitting needlle. I think it’s quite common. Do you know what I mean?
