I am becoming obsessed!

I have never really seen a pattern that was beyond my skill and wanted it. I usually like simple patterns and shapes. That was until I saw the Polar Bear Chullo in the Twist Collective magazine. (D*mn you Twist Collective!) I have now become obsessed with that hat and already have a list of KP Palette yarns that I can substitute for the pricier Shetland yarn the pattern calls for.

Problem is that I have never knit anything with stranded colorwork or with an i-cord edging. But I am really thinking I should just order the yarn, buy the pattern, and jump in or I am going to start dreaming about Polar bears!

Order the yarn and pattern, start when both arrive. You could maybe do some practice stranding with some leftover yarn while waiting.

Thanks for the encouragement Suzy. I think I am going to try it. I found a free pattern for a snowflake hat that uses stranding in a heavier weight yarn that I should be able to get done while I wait so that I can practice. I just have to keep telling myself that it’s only knitting, if I make a mistake I can frog back.
