How's this for an ambitious project?

they say it’s knitted.

WOW!
That is incredible. I am curious to know what it is stuffed with that will last 20 years! And how is it anchored to the hill?

I can just imagine a huge gust of wind sending that thing tumbling down the hill…almost scarier than Godzilla or the Stay-Puft marshmallow man from Ghostbusters. :roflhard: :roflhard:

I can hear it now…Quotes from the Pink Bunny Incident: “Mayor, how do you explain the destruction of your city?” “It was the Pink Bunny that did it!” :shock: :oo:

those crazy italians! :slight_smile:

I would hate to see what’s under it now. :shock:

shiver

:roflhard: eww!
20 years. I wonder what it’s stuffed with.
it’s not very cute, looks kind of - dead.

I love this part:

the bunny is not just for walking around - they are expecting hikers to climb its 20 foot sides and relax on its belly.

Awww, I wanna lie on the giant pink bunny belly!! And I wanna do it now, not 20 years from now when it’s not pink anymore and it’s smelly!!! :rofling:

Ugh, can you imagine what kind of nasties will be on that thing in 20 years. Ick.

It’s kind of disturbing looking…not cute and cuddly at all.

Okay, so it says it’s made of wool. So what happens when a good rain comes along? Although I’d hate to think that it was knitted EVEN BIGGER and has already been shrunk!

Wouldn’t it be cool if after it rained, you could lay on it and have the belly shaped like you? :rofling:

Man, I could go on for days with this one! Alas, I will restrain.

my coworker wants to give it a giant bass drum with Energizer logo. :roflhard:

:shock: that’s a lot of grannies!!! :thinking: about the ickiness after 20 years?

what i want to know is, why 20 years? Why not 5 or 10 or 17 and a half?

:thinking: Uh … big bunny shelf life? hehehe :mrgreen:

I saw that on a blog a couple of days ago…left me quite speechless. Wish it would have been in Italy when we were there. Would be interesting to see in person.

I can’t help but think it will rot and/or be eaten by insects.

Another confirmation that some people have too much time (and pink yarn) on their hands. :rollseyes:

Two words:

Wet wool

{holding my nose}

All right … my curiousity got the best of me. You have to take a look at this picture.

It’s already nasty, and it’s entrails are hanging out!

And here’s their press release

Rabbit
The things one finds wandering in a landscape: familiar things and utterly unknown, like a flower one has never seen before, or, as Columbus discovered, an inexplicable continent;
and then, behind a hill, as if knitted by giant grandmothers, lies this vast rabbit, to make you feel as small as a daisy.
The toilet-paper-pink creature lies on its back: a rabbit-mountain like Gulliver in Lilliput. Happy you feel as you climb up along its ears, almost falling into its cavernous mouth, to the belly-summit and look out over the pink woolen landscape of the rabbitís body, a country dropped from the sky;
ears and limbs sneaking into the distance; from its side flowing heart, liver and
intestines.
Happily in love you step down the decaying corpse, through the wound, now small like a maggot, over woolen kidney and bowel.
Happy you leave like the larva that gets its wings from an innocent carcass at the roadside.
Such is the happiness which made this rabbit.
i love the rabbit the rabbit loves me.

I’m usually in favor of any and all sillyness, but these people need to find a purpose for their lives; this should embarrass them.

:rollseyes:

What in the world??

So first you’re supposed to view it as a wonderfully large child’s toy, then they describe it as if you’re walking over it’s entrails “like a maggot”. Riiiiiiiiight. Cuddly toy or dead Daumer bunny carcass - you decide.

That is the creepiest thing i have ever seen. And it looks like he’s getting quite filthy already with people walking all over him. Who on earth would want to lie down in someone else’s muddy footprints??

Is this being done by some psych hospital as art therapy or something??

Next thing you’ll have people laying on its stomach wearing brand new tennis shoes and covering themselves with purple triangles waiting for the mother ship to return.

Too freaky for me.

-hh

:roflhard: :roflhard: NO doubt! It is going to be a big pink pile of goo before it ever lasts as long as they think they’re going to have it there.

We are leaving for Italy next week. I don’t see the big pink bunny on the list of must sees! However, you never know what you may find in your travels---------I’ll have the camera ready.

OH, MAR! Have a WONDERFUL time!!! :inlove:
