Hello!
I’ve got sweater pattern, and it’s not that clear to me how to work it, because every time I try to knit it, I end up doing this -->:frog: .
This is the pattern of the front and the back, as u can see, it is the chest part.
This is the pattern of the sleeves (shoulders).
Please I need help on how can I manage my size, how to manage the armpit along with the shoulder, and what is the best way to sew the parts together?
PS. I can’t work with double pointed needles or circular needles :shrug: .
Please I need help with it, and please please would it by in simple words, because English is not my mother language :pout: :help:
Are you working the back stitches in pattern? Each row you have to follow the fair isle pattern.
:waving:Sorry I can’t be much help on the pattern, but I just wanted to say I love your Aliens clip on your sig! One of my fav movies, in fact I named my dog Ripley (below) kind of as a halfway joke because she’s very demure and not at all the fighter that her namesake was.
P.S.: It’s a beautiful sweater, first one to make me want to do a fair isle sweater, I made a dog sweater for Ripley, and that was my one and only foray into fair isle.
@Arielluria.
Hello!
no I haven’t started with it yet, that’s why I need help so I can start
Thanks about ur lovely comment on the Sig, I love that movie too, specially the roles of Ellen Ripley and Dwayne Hicks. Michael Biehn is such a great actor!
@imrachel.
Hello!
well, to tell the truth, this pattern is made by someone, and I asked her to have a copy, that was 2 years ago, now I don’t know how to reach her because we used to chat on a forum and that forum is closed :(. that man is a member of a Norwegian band called A-ha, and she liked his sweater and wrote the pattern, but she did not make it much clearer when she sent it for me :(. and after these years I want to make a step of progress on my knitting, so i decided to try that sweater because I want it as I like Magne (his name LOL!)
If u have any other question, please feel free to ask it
Ahhh, I get your problem, now. This is probably not a good way to go. Instead, try this: Go to http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/kategori_oversikt.php . See the photos with a word under them?-- click on “Men”. There will be 6 pages of free patterns, and some of them look very, very similar to what you’re trying to do. And they’re all free! Also, because they are posted on-line, if you run into trouble, people on this site can help you. You can read the patterns in a variety of languages, but they’re all European and North American, unfortunately. But your English is terrific, so you should be okay. Now, I have to warn you, none of the patterns on that site used Magne as a model:cry: . But still, some of them are pretty cute:) .
Oh, so this should help me with the size and how many stitches/rows should I work?
Well, I had an idea, is it possible to measure my waist, arms, and my back so I can work on stitches that would exactly fits me?
Well, you could do one of 2 things. One is take, say, this pattern http://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=52&d_id=19&lang=us and follow it exactly. Or, if you have your heart set on using the diagram your friend gave you, then you could use this pattern and the diagram and work with the 2 of them mixed together to get what you want.
Well, I think there r some words I won’t understand:??
I can take everything in that pattern except the chart, as it would be the chart I have
Thanks for ur kind help, Rachel:muah:
Thank u!
BTW, I found this pattern, and actually it fits me more
I would just take the small size’s pattern and add the chart I have, and I believe it will fit more as it’s a woman’s. Why should I wear a man’s sweater?
