Hi, I’m sure this is an easy question, but I could really use some more experienced knitters’ help. I’m shaping the ears on a hat, knitting on circular needles. The next step of the pattern reads, “Working over next 6 sts only, work in St st for 4 rows. Place on holder.” Does this mean I knit the 6 sts first, then somehow reverse to purl those same 6 stitches, then reverse and knit the 6 again, then finally purl those 6? If so, I’m not sure how to do this on the round with circular needles. Thanks in advance!
Welcome to KH!
Yes, that’s exactly what you do. Knit the 6 sts, then turn as you would at the end of the row. To do that, switch the needle in your hands. The wrong side will be facing you, yarn coming from the tip of the needle in your left hand. Purl the 6sts and turn again.
Amazing! Thanks so much salmonmac.
