How to "tuck in yarn ends"

I just finished (almost) my first hat. I can’t even begin to express how excited I am! :woot:

Anyway, all I have left to do is “tuck in the yarn ends”. I already ran the yarn end through my few remaining stitches at the top, and pulled it closed. Now I’ve got this yarn end inside the hat, and one at the bottom where I started. What’s the best way to tuck these into the rest of the hat without making it look stupid? After all the work I did on this hat, and how great it turned out, I don’t want to mess it up at the very end!

I looked in the videos and didn’t see anything about this, but maybe I missed it.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

:happydance: Congrats on your first hat!! You are going to follow a stitch to weave in those loose ends… If you check out Amy’s videos under tipsyou will see a small project demo… this will show you how to weave in the co and bo ends

If you need more help beyond Amy’s you can find some here.

I take a small crochet hook and pull the ends through adjacent sts on the WS - weaving them in an over/under or up/down way so they’re hidden by the purl bars.
