I am working on the Purl Bee Big Herringbone Cowl and I need to tink about ten stitches. I have been searching for some directions (video would be awesome) of how to do this but haven’t found any yet. Does anyone know how and could help or perhaps point to a place for help? I would appreciate it greatly!!!
TIA!!!
Hi there!
If you google “how to tink” several links to YouTube videos come up. I’d copy one here that shows both knit and purl tinking, but my iPad opens the video with no link for me to copy.
Sorry not to be more help…
I’m not exactly sure what herringbone stitch is, but I’m assuming it’s a combination of knits and purls. Regardless of the stitch pattern tinking is generally the same.
I’m on my iPad so can’t post YouTube links, but here are a few others-
The first info is about ing tinking

Thank you
I will check the links out. I tried to post the link to the pattern but since this was my first post it would not let me. But here it is :http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/big-herringbone-cowl
Thank you! I have searched but haven’t found this particular stitch…yet. I will keep looking though
Herringbone is such a gorgeous, dense stitch because every stitch is knit twice. For the same reason, it’s not so easy to tink. I’ve taken it out 2 sts at a time and that seems to work pretty well. When you’ve gotten past the mistake, pick up the loop from the next stitch (the next untinked stitch) on the right needle and put it on the left needle. Then you can continue on with working the row.
It’s a good pattern to use a lifeline on.
Good luck with the scarf. It’s such a gorgeous stitch pattern and this really shows it off.
