How to slip 1 wyif

Hi,

I have a pattern which states: K1, slip 1 wyif, repeat until end. The K1 is straight forward.

BUT I have googled slip 1 wyif but I am a visual person so I am struggling with the instructions I have read. Does anybody know of a video on the internet or something (moving diagram) I could take a look at.

Thank you.

What don’t you understand? Move the yarn to the front as if you were going to purl, slip the st from the left needle to the right needle, then move the yarn to the back to knit 1.

I think I would fine that annoying if it’s a very long row - but basically you *knit a stitch, move your yarn from back to front, slip a stitch, flip your yarn from front to back, and repeat from *. Sort of like a 1x1 rib, but you slip the stitch from one needle to the other instead of purling.

I am finding it difficult because I am very new to knitting and I have followed the instructions but I don’t have the experience to follow them correctly (stupid - I know!!!)

I have found this video. So, anybody else who needs some help. I found this very useful.

Thank you everybody for your advice.

Thx for the video! Sometimes questions may seem silly to those who have been doing this for a while (how soon we forget) but I am also a visual learner. This video was a HUUUGE help. Thx for coming bk and posting.

Good video, lancashirelass! Thanks for posting
