Hi! I am working on a Christmas stocking that is knitted flat. At the end it says to seam toe and I was wondering how to go about doing this. Would it still be Kitchener stitch even though it’s knitted flat? There are 18 stitches left. It’s the decorated Christmas stocking from lion brand yarn.
if you don’t bind off the sts, you can do Kitchener to seam the heel. Transfer half the sts to another needle and you should be set to go.
ETA: one thing, you’ll seam this with the side of the toe facing. So rather than seaming across the instep to join the instep side to the sole side, the way you would with a sock, you’ll seam at right angles to that.
