I have almost completed a prayer shawl. It is knit in worsted weight wool over 74 stitches. It is not as wide as I would like and am wondering if someone can suggest a border that would enhance the entire piece? I am using size 11 needles. I have made several of these in a more bulky weight yarn and they were wider than this one.

Is it rectangular? You can pick up sts along the edges and work several more rows, either in garter st, or any stitch pattern really, as long as it fits into the number of sts you have. An eyelet pattern - yo, k2tog - may look nice.

Yes it is rectangular and thanks for the suggestion, that may well be what I do.
