How to... properly read this pattern... ending a row

I’m a beginner at knitting and was confused at the end of the third row of my baby’s cardigan and want to get clarification before i go much further :aww: your help is much apprecaited!

Row Instructions:
K1, * k2tog, yfwd, rep from * to last st, k1

Question:
When i finish with all the k2tog, there is one stitch left (the last stitch), do i yfwd then k1 or just k1? :help:

Because the yfwd is within the , you do have to yfwd before knitting the last stitch.

Do the yarn forward for that one, too, since the directions are (k2, yfwd) across.

If it was (yfwd, k2), then you’d just knit the last one.

You need to complete the ** so I would yfwd and then K1. If you were supposed to elim the yfwd the instructions would most likely state ‘working last rep as k2tog, k1.’
