I am stuck on this stitch. It is called Raised Diagonal Left…These are the directions._________ K1,* skip one st,k 2nd st from back, insert needle in skipped st as to p and slip both sts off left-handed needle.
I absolutely don’t know where to put the needle to knit that stitch. it says from back but I tried to just knit it and it isn’t right. I tried the back of the loop and that isn’t right. Help please:
Basically, you’re going to knit the 2nd st before the first one. So with your needle coming into the 2nd one from the back of your work, knit it and leave it there, then put the R needle into the first one. You’re kind of slipping the first st.
If you look at videos for a Left Twist, that’s how you knit the 2nd stitch.
Often things like this don’t look the same (or mirrored) but they even out later on. I’d say do a few more rows, then gently stretch and pull it to see if they even out. Or do a small piece that has both of them (about 5x5") then wash and/or block it to see how that helps.
