How to - "loop1"

I’m working the Peony (#35) from 100 Flowers to Knit & Crochet by Lesley Stanfield. 1st row of center says K1, *loop1, k1; reapeat from * to end…“loop 1” is not explained in the abbreviations or notes section of the book. Anyone know what “loop 1” means? Is it just a yarn over? Thanks to anyone who might help me.

No, it’s not the same as a YO, you’d leave a loop of yarn sticking out I think. There’s a video for the ‘loop stitch’ on the Tips page I think.
