Hi,
I’m fairly new to color switching and I wanted to get a recommendation on which method of color switching to use for the following pattern:
I’m hoping to achieve different colored checker blocks for the 4 knit and 4 purl chunks.
Please advise!
If you want your blocks to look like this:
k p k p
p k p k
k p k p
p k p k
Just change colour on rows 6 and 12
If you want your blocks to look like this:
k p k p
p k p k
k p k p
p k p k
then do each block in intarsia when changing colours across the work and use the knit rows to change colour when going up the work. NB: This will leave you a lot of ends to weave in when you are finished.
Thank you for your reply.
I tried to do it in intarsia but noticed the weaved ends. Is there any way to get the second option but with out all the weaved ends?
Depending on how many colors you’re planning on using, you may find that you can connect from the corner of one square diagonally to the same color on the next course of squares, but one square over.
My 2 cents FWIW.
Fair Isle and strand the back
Double knit and have A B A B on one side and B A B A on the other
