How to knit circle scarf

I wanna knit circle scarf so do I have to buy cricular needle?
Otherwise, How can I knit without circular needle? :knitting:

You could knit a regular scarf on straight needles, then sew the cast on and BO ends together. If you want the stitch pattern to go the other direction, then you’d knit to knit it in the round with circulars. There’s videos for doing that on the Advanced Techniques page.
