How do I ch 1 when knitting?
Welcome to KH. What are you working on? Ch1 is a crochet stitch.
I’m knitting an afgan pattern by Katia. The pattern is p2, k8, p2, k2 tog, ch1, k2. I really appreciate your help. Thank you
Can you link to your pattern, or what is its name? Ch1 still looks like a crochet stitch. Is it explained somewhere in the pattern?
I’ve wondered the same thing when I saw it inthis pattern: First knitted ears, last row, after k5tog. I just ignored it, so I do not know what it means. But if I had to say something, the only thing left to do at that point is drawing the yarn through the loop to bind of the stitch… Would such a bind off make sense near the end of the row you’re knitting? It would probably create a hole as you do knit on…
In the pattern for the elephant ears, the ch1 at the very end, after you knit all 5sts together seems like knit one with the yarn pulled through. A bind off, just as you said.
On the afghan pattern, I wonder what it does mean: another knit stitch? That would be the equivalent of a knit stitch.
Can you give us the name of the afghan or a link to a photo? Maybe that would help.
