How to increase in seed stitch

I am trying to knit a pair of seed stitch shoes/booties for a newborn. However the pattern is not very specific and since I am a beginner I am confused!

The exact wording of the part I am confused about is :

“Work in seed st and inc one st at end of next and every foll alt row until there are 32 sts,k work all increase sts in seed st, so keeping the continuity of the pattern. Decrease one st at each end of next and every foll alt row until 22 st rem.”

I’m wondering what kind of increase I should use and how exactly I should do it so that it stays in seed stitch pattern? Also, when it says the end of the row, does it really mean the beginning and end of each row? Because otherwise it will be uneven and I would think would make it into ribbing?

Also, is there any special kind of decrease I should use? I haven’t gotten to that part yet, but I’m sure that’ll confuse me as well!

What you can to for the increases is to increase in the last stitch and either k and purl into the last stitch if the last stitch is a knit anyway or purl and knit into the last stitch if the last stitch is a purl.

Once the increase is established, then you just work it as if it had been ther all along.

If it says to increase at the end of each row, it could be doing that to shape it a certain way. Or it could be a typo. Not having it here, it’s hard to say. I’d go with the original directions and see what happens. Nothing will become ribbing as long as you knit the purls and purl the knits as they face you.

For the decrease, I’d either k2tog or p2tog, depending on what the second stitch in the row is supposed to be.

Ok, I looked more closely at the picture and it must be a typo. Because it definitely gets longer on both sides. UGH! All that trouble over a silly typo! Thanks for your help though.
