Kitchen garbage or those dark green leaf plastic bags are okay, but the ones from the grocery or drug store are not. Apparently they can cause the yarn to deteriorate-- something about the nature of the plastic used in them.

My favorites are the cloth bins you can get at Walmart. Since I’m a labeler I love that there’s a little window on the front of it and thus I know exactly what is in each one without having to go through them.

RIght now I’m storing yarn in rubbermaid bins & wip are sitting on a bookshelf. I like the bins, it keeps the kids/animals out of it and they stack.

i have a bin that fits under my bed (and is on wheels) that i put most of my stash in.

and than the stuff i am working on, or have plans for the near future is in a fabric bag in my living room (at arms reach for when i get inspired)

i stored mine in a black plastic n put in any free drawer…its ok

My yarn is in a plastic drawers, plastic bins and ziploc bags. I could not store them without the ziploc bags, they are great for all of my unfinished objects…

Up until now I’ve stored it in giant Ziploc bags, plastic storage drawer thing from Target, or a hanging mesh toy keeper from Ikea.

However, this weekend I told DH I wanted to organize my stash so it was easier to find what I wanted. I said I wanted glass cabinet doors for the bookshelf (Ikea) and two hours later we had them and he was putting them up. Guess he wanted my stash organized, too! Gonna take a little time to get it all squared away, but I’m loving it!

Right now I am using a big square plastic zip up bag that was originally for a queen sized blanket. It’s decently durable and I can see everything in it.

I have my stash in bankers boxes, in my Expedit bookshelf. I love it, you just pull out a box and see what’s inside!

For stuff I’m working on, I use the large ziplock freezer bags. It holds the ball of yarn, the WIP, and the pattern.

I have a shelf beside my chair in the living room that has a bankers box on the bottom shelf full of WIPS in baggies! Plus a foldable canvas tote bag thing full of stuff as well.
