How to fix herringbone dropped stitch

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on the Big Herringbone Cowl on purlbee.com. It’s done in the round. I know how to pick up dropped stitches in stockinette yet I am stumped as to how to pick up dropped stitches in herringbone. Is there anyone who knows how to fix dropped stitches in this pattern without unraveling whole rows? I am thinking of starting over but I’m halfway through my project so I’m really reluctant to do that.

Thank you in advance!

Vicky

Hi and welcome to Knitting Help!
I’ve only done swatches of herringbone which is a gorgeous stitch. I would study the pattern of sts and see if you can weave the dropped stitch into that pattern. Each stitch is coming through the collar of one of the deliberately dropped stitches. If it’s in the last row, it might be easiert to tink back to it. I know that’s not so easy to do in herringbone stitch but it’s definitely better than starting over. I would also recommend using a lifeline with this pattern.

Thank you, salmonmac! The lifeline is a great tip.
