Does any one have any ideas how I could knit on a plastic head band then felt it. I saw a girl wearing a head band felted. she said it was felted on the plastic head band. Is there a way to cast stitcheson the head band, any ideas?
Thanks Antonia

My guess is that it was needle felted, not knit first. A quick tutorial is here
very helpful. Thanks so much, the young girl did say it was knitted around the head band, I will study the link carefully, I do appreciate your help.
Thanks
What an intriguing idea!!! I wear headbands ALOT and never thought of making a felted one. I think you could use some leftover yarn and figure it out trial by error!!!
Pick up the inexpensive plastic headbands and start knitting. Jus knit a tube that is bigger than the band, slip it on, sew it up and throw it in the washer. You might want to knit a swtch and felt it first to see what the “approximate” shrinkage is.
The other option would be to knit and felt a rectangle then cut and glue it to the headband.
I just might have to give that idea some furthre consideration!!!
I’m not sure about putting it into the washer, might break the plastic. But hand felting in a sink would work.
how would I knite a tube? Thank you so much for your help
Thank you good idea
thats a pretty good tutorial, it seems good to use, i would use it :knitting:
Oh! A simple I-cord tube! There is a video here on knitting i-cord, that would seem perfect!
Yes I do believe you are so right
thanks so much
