How to expand pattern

I am still on this. I am about finished with my 1st panel:passedout:
It says 48"x48", but, I doubled that to make it bigger and will add more panels also. My question is this, if you look at the pattern, is shows the rows and stitches then says repeat 7 times, so, that would actually be 8 times total, right, so, if I double it, I would do another 8 times, then, 1-7 once, knit 2 rows then bind off?
