How to "emblish" on a completed project

Hi all, I have just finished a cute “neck warmer”…complete with a neat loop to tuck in one end… "anyway, I thought that a nice design would fit the recepient…but it’s already done…so here’s the question: could I do a “skull” using swiss darning a.k.a dup stitch? If anyone has a pat let me know thanks

I don’t see why not. As for a pattern, how big is the space you want to put the skull in (that is, approximately how many stitches by how many stitches)?
