How to create a loop stitch when using a purl stitch

Hi I’m knitting a cushion which requires me to create a loop stitch when purling a stitch. I think I have mastered how to do this when using a knit stitch but I’m unable to grasp how to do it when using a purl stitch.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Do you want the loop to show on the purl side or on the knit side (if there is a knit side)? What is the name of your pattern and designer?
This video shows a loop stitch made from the purl side but showing on the opposite side. (see 2:00min)

Thanks so much, video seems really helpful, I will practice on a scrap piece of wool.
I think the loop is meant to show on the knit side.
The pattern is for a “Heilan Coo Cushion” and the pattern is by TeaCosyFolk

That’s adorable! This is an amazing cattle breed to see.

Great pattern!

Hi, just to let you see my completed Heilan Coo. Lots of mistakes but my daughter is happy with it and I keep telling her it’s an original.
I hope the picture has uploaded.
    Thanks again for your help

Fierce and adorable at the same time. Well done!

Fantastic! I’m sure my son would love one of these!

To create a loop stitch while using a purl stitch, you can follow these steps: First, bring your yarn to the front as you normally would for purling. Instead of purling the stitch directly, wrap the yarn around your needle multiple times (usually 3-5 times, depending on the desired loop size) to create the loops.

Then, purl the next stitch in the row as you normally would. Finally, when you come back to this stitch on the next row, you’ll need to carefully untwist the wrapped yarn and purl through the loops, which will create the loop effect. This method should help you achieve the loop stitch while purling!
