How to count rows?

I’m knitting a scarf in gartner stitch and I keep losing track of how many rows I’ve knitted, how do I count them?

You can count the ridges that the garter stitch makes. One ridge equals 2 Rows

Or just jot down the number of the row after you finished it. Or make a line for every row you finished. That way you won’t lose track of your row number.
