Hello. I’m hoping someone on here can help me with this.
I’m knitting the baby jacket with seed stitch bands, from Debbie Bliss’s book baby knits for beginners. I know from what I’ve read, that if I follow the pattern, the buttonholes won’t be centered on the band. I’m just a tiny bit beyond beginner level, and I can’t figure out what I need to do to center the holes.
Thanks in advance for any help.
How to center a buttonhole on a buttonhole band with an odd number of stitches
Welcome to the forum!
Actually, the buttonholes don’t have to be centered. I prefer to have more sts on the side near the front opening. So if you have a 5stitch band, 3sts at the opening, perhaps a yarn over then 2sts next to the body of the front.
Thank you so much for your helpful reply .
