I’m working on a sweater pattern that requires that I cast on 14 stitches at the end of the row. I’m working on the collar of the sweater that is worked in a rib pattern. I would like to finish with a professional look but need help in knowing the best way to cast on the stitches. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Your best bet is to use a knitted or cable cast on and then work the stitches in the ribbing on the next row. Sometimes it helps to add an extra stitch and then work two together where the new stitches meet the old on the first row.
Ingrid, thank you for this information. I’m looking forward to completing this project and especially to successfully finish the collar.
