How to bind off in Razor shell knit (?)

Hi there,

I’m currently knitting this scarf:

I’m close to the end but I am going to run into a problem. How would I bind off so that the end looks like the beginning?

I’ve been searching for a week on the web w/no luck. Hope you can help. =)

Thank you so much!

If you read the comments after the scarf pattern, this same question is asked over and over again. No answer, though.

I don’t see why binding off loosely after the 2nd row of the repeat wouldn’t resemble the beginning…but if that doesn’t look right, then you can contact the lady on the blog. There’s a “contact me” link on it. Or maybe someone else here knows the answer. I looked in my encyclopedia and it says nothing about binding off, so I’d guess you just bind off loosely knitting and purling as you see fit.

Another option is to knit two halves so both ends are cast ons. You’d have to either graft them together in the middle or sew them. It would leave a seam, but the two ends would be the same.

I just found this…

It looks like you can either just bind off and have edges that don’t quite match, but look fine. Or, you can knit two halves separately and graft them together!
