I always keep some very plain knitting around to do while reading so it’s not always an either/or. I am addicted to my fibers, but I can’t let my bibliophile side suffer too much.
I go through phases… I started knitting a little over a year ago and was OB-SESSED. No doubt that it takes away from reading time! I definitely feel the most satisfied when I finish something within a reasonable amount of time so I have decided that going forward I am going to start knitting with very chunky yarns…
I am currently working on an alpaca blanket which seems to be taking me forever (i am so close to finished!) so I decided I needed a break, bought a really chunky wool yarn and knit a cute scarf in 3 days! It just felt good to finish a project again that I am all about completing my blanket now and back on the obsession train! For me it’s all about finding the inspiration (and the time)! Okay housework, who cares. Reading, well if it’s about knitting and yesterday I swear, I saw a shadow on my wall " just yesterday a knitted piece with the needles in the yarn"
You know your in trouble when you’re caught sleep talking asking “what end comes first” Sad, Yes I agree. Alas tis true.
Hands up! I’m a junkie knitter and probably, really,really should go to the doctors with an obsession disorder.
Are there any AAA classes out there for knitters? heee heee.
